Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Ana Fernández Guardiola obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona in 1981, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She trained as an ophthalmologist and strabologist between 1981 and 1985 at the Hospital of the Red Cross of L’Hospitalet del Llobregat (Barcelona). She attended as an Observer Doctor at the Barraquer Institute of Ophthalmology (Barcelona).
He was Assistant Doctor of the Ophthalmology Service of the Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu de Esplugues del Llobregat (Barcelona), from October 1988 to May 2014, creating the first Pediatric Tissue Bank, in collaboration with the Transplant Service Foundation (Hospital Clínic de Barcelona) in November 2009. Associate Doctor of the Ophthalmology Service of the Hospital de Nens de Barcelona from May 2009 to January 2019.
Her academic activity is extensive, participating as a teacher in numerous courses and congresses, she has presented numerous communications and posters at national and international congresses and is the author of several publications in books and magazines of the specialty.
Since 2014 she has been providing her services as Head of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Unit at OMIQ (General Hospital of Catalonia and Hospital de Sagrat Cor de Barcelona).
