Dr. Mercè Guarro had her degree in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona Medical School in 1988. She specialized in Ophthalmology in 1993 being her areas of interest cataract surgery and glaucoma. Fellowship in cataract surgery with J. L. Pearce in United Kingdom. Involved in planning the ophthalmological needs of a Barcelona area of 500.000 inhabitants, she designed and implanted one of the first screening programs for diabetic retinopathy in the Barcelona area. She has been principal investigator in many glaucoma and cataract surgery research trials. Nowadays acts as a cataract and glaucoma Consultant Surgeon with a special interest in complex cataract surgery cases and anterior segment reconstruction. Also she is Head of the Ophthalmology department of Hospital de Granollers and OMIQ.

Dr. Laura Sararols Ramsay MD graduated in Medicine and Surgery at Universitat Central of Barcelona Medical University in 1993, was a medical intern in ophthalmology and started her professional life hand to hand with the best retina surgeons in the Retina Unit at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona from 1994 until 2007.
She has been since 2007 chief of the Retina Unit in Hospital General of Granollers and director of OMIQ Hospital General de Catalunya. Dr Sararols MD is the Principal Investigator of multiple multicenter studies in Retina Diseases specially exudativa AMD therapies, Geographic Atrophy and Diabetic Macular Edema so she is up to date with the most advanced and innovate therapies.
In summary a Retina Specialist with a high quality formation in the best Retina Unit in Barcelona that leads a new Retina Unit in the north of Barcelona and with a high implication in Research and new therapies.

Dr. Ana Fernández Guardiola MD licenced in Medicine and Surgery at Barcelona University in 1981, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology.
Formed as Strabology Specialist between 1981 and 1982 in Hospital Creu Roja in Barcelona.
